The LEVITON MFG CO R16-GFTR2-0KT is a 20-amp commercial grade ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) outlet designed for feed-through protection in demanding electrical installations. Built with a self-test function that automatically verifies protection status, this outlet eliminates the need for manual monthly testing. The 2-pole, 3-wire configuration handles 20-amp feed-through loads, making it appropriate for commercial and residential applications where NEC-required GFCI protection is mandated. Electricians will find the back and side wired capability, self-grounding clip, and brass double wipe contacts and clamps well suited to fast, reliable installation.
This outlet fits standard single-gang electrical boxes and is appropriate for commercial kitchens, bathrooms, garages, unfinished basements, and outdoor receptacle locations where GFCI protection is required by the National Electrical Code. The tamper resistant shutter mechanism meets NEC requirements for tamper resistance in dwelling units and child-occupied facilities. The monochromatic button design provides a clean, uniform appearance across a variety of faceplates and cover configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style commercial grade GFCI outlet suitable for standard single-gang electrical boxes requiring 20-amp, 2-pole, 3-wire GFCI protection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the breaker panel and verify the absence of voltage with a meter before wiring. Feed-through wiring must correctly distinguish line and load terminals to ensure downstream protection functions properly. The self-grounding clip is compatible with metal boxes only; plastic boxes require a separate ground conductor connected to the green screw.
