It is designed to continuously monitor the circuit for ground fault conditions and automatically trip when a fault is detected, without requiring manual testing by the installer or homeowner. The device features monochromatic buttons, a self-grounding clip, and brass double-wipe contacts and clamps for reliable electrical connection. It supports 20-amp feed-through wiring, allowing it to protect downstream receptacles on the same circuit. A screwless wall plate is included. Licensed electricians install this device in residential settings per NEC requirements.
This GFCI outlet is suited for residential installations in locations where ground fault protection is required by code, including bathrooms, kitchens, garages, crawl spaces, unfinished basements, outdoor areas, and other wet or damp locations. It supports both back-wire and side-wire termination methods, offering flexibility during rough-in and finish wiring. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation GFCI receptacle for standard residential 15-amp branch circuits using NEMA 5-15R configurations.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. Shut off the branch circuit breaker and verify the circuit is de-energized with a non-contact voltage tester before beginning any wiring work. Follow the line and load terminal markings precisely when wiring for feed-through protection, as reversed connections will defeat downstream GFCI coverage. Confirm the self-test indicator status after restoring power to verify proper operation.
