The AGTR1 is suited for commercial installations including bathrooms, kitchens, garages, outdoor locations, and anywhere the NEC requires GFCI protection on 15-amp branch circuits. It supports both back-wired and side-wired termination methods, giving electricians flexibility during rough-in and retrofit work. With a single-phase, 3-wire, 2-pole configuration, it fits standard duplex receptacle rough openings and works with common single-gang wallplates. Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the branch circuit at the panel and verify the absence of voltage with a meter before beginning any wiring work. Both back-wire and side-wire termination points are available on this device — do not use both methods simultaneously on the same terminal. After installation, test the GFCI function using the built-in test and reset buttons before restoring the circuit to service.
