The LEVITON 7599-I is a commercial-grade, 15-amp, 125-volt GFCI duplex receptacle designed to provide ground fault protection in branch circuits where code-required fault protection applies. The Smart Lock Pro design prevents the RESET button from functioning if the device's internal protection has been compromised, eliminating the risk of a falsely reset GFCI passing power without genuine protection. A built-in LED indicator light communicates device status at a glance. The feed-through configuration allows downstream devices to be protected from a single GFCI location. Electricians install this receptacle in commercial and residential applications requiring dependable, self-monitoring ground fault protection.
This receptacle is suited for commercial and residential installations where NEC Article 210 mandates GFCI protection — bathrooms, kitchens, garages, outdoor locations, unfinished basements, crawl spaces, and similar wet or damp environments. The duplex 5-15R configuration accepts standard 15-amp, 125-volt plugs. The line-load diagnostic feature is particularly valuable during initial installation: if line and load conductors are reversed at the terminals, the receptacle will not reset and will stop power from feeding the face or downstream outlets, alerting the installer to the wiring error immediately.
Designed as an OEM-style commercial-grade GFCI receptacle replacement for standard 15-amp, 125-volt duplex outlet locations requiring UL 943-listed ground fault protection. Accepts standard 5-15R plug configurations.
This receptacle is installed by a licensed electrician. Turn off and lock out the branch circuit breaker at the panel before any wiring work. Observe NEC requirements for GFCI placement in applicable locations as defined in the current edition of NFPA 70. Use the line-load diagnostic feature during commissioning: if the RESET button will not engage after wiring, confirm line and load conductors are connected to the correct terminals before re-energizing the circuit.
