Product Description

The Leviton 279-S is a shallow design single receptacle configured as a NEMA 14-50R, rated 50 A at 125/250 V for flush mounting. It provides a 3-pole, 4-wire grounding arrangement with heavy-gauge brass double-wipe contacts and a galvanized steel strap in a high-impact polypropylene body. Side-wired terminals accept up to #4 AWG conductors (torque 40 in-lbs) and the device withstands 2000 V per UL 498. Operating range is -40 C to 60 C. Not recommended for electric vehicle charging.
