The LEVITON 2720-IG is a straight blade single receptacle rated for 30 amps at 250 volts AC, configured to NEMA L15-30R specifications with an isolated ground design. Built for industrial environments, this flush-mount receptacle features an orange body for quick visual identification in multi-outlet installations. The isolated ground configuration reduces electrical noise on sensitive equipment circuits by separating the grounding path from the equipment ground plane. Licensed electricians install this receptacle in commercial and industrial panel-fed branch circuits where EMI interference must be minimized. The Valox thermoplastic body provides durability in demanding service conditions.
This receptacle is suited for three-phase, 3-pole, 4-wire circuits operating at 250 volts AC in commercial and industrial applications. The flush-mount design fits standard electrical boxes, and the back and side wiring method accommodates both pigtail and direct termination approaches. Common install scenarios include machine tool circuits, industrial process equipment, and data center power distribution where isolated grounding is required by specification or code. The orange color conforms to industry convention for identifying isolated ground devices on the job.
Designed as an OEM-style isolated ground receptacle for three-phase 250-volt AC branch circuits requiring NEMA L15-30R outlet configuration in industrial and commercial installations.
Installation must be performed by a qualified, licensed electrician in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) Article 250 requirements for isolated grounding conductors. De-energize and lock out the circuit breaker feeding the outlet box before beginning any wiring work. Isolated ground receptacles require a separate insulated grounding conductor run back to the panel ground bus — do not bond it to the equipment ground at the device location. Verify that the supply circuit is configured for three-phase, 4-wire service before installation.
