The LEVITON MFG CO 102-GFTA2-00W is a 20-amp, tamper resistant GFCI receptacle with an integrated audible self-test function. It monitors itself automatically and sounds an alert when power to connected or downstream loads is interrupted, signaling a fault or wiring issue without requiring a visual check. Lighted, monochromatic test and reset buttons provide a clean, low-profile appearance. This receptacle is installed by licensed electricians in residential and light commercial applications where NEC ground fault protection is required.
This GFCI receptacle is well suited for locations where a visual inspection of the outlet is impractical, including corner installations, storage rooms, utility areas, garages, and other out-of-the-way spaces. The audible alert removes the guesswork when a downstream load loses power in a location that is not checked regularly. The tamper resistant design meets NEC requirements for receptacles in areas accessible to children. Package contains 10 units per order, making it practical for multi-outlet rough-in work. Each unit ships with mounting screws, washers, an instruction sheet, and a self-ground clip.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation GFCI receptacle for standard 20-amp branch circuits requiring ground fault protection per NEC Article 210.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the branch circuit at the panel and verify absence of voltage with a meter before beginning any wiring work. Follow the included instruction sheet for line and load terminal wiring; incorrect load-side wiring will prevent downstream protection from functioning. The self-ground clip is included but does not substitute for a properly grounded box where code requires it.
