The LESSO UV436-010 is a Schedule 40 PVC male adapter designed for 1-inch threaded-by-socket (TxS) connections in pressurized water distribution and irrigation piping systems. The UV-resistant (UVR) formulation slows material degradation when exposed to direct sunlight, making this fitting suitable for outdoor and above-grade installations where standard PVC would otherwise chalk and weaken over time. At 0.07 pounds, it is a lightweight, single-piece fitting that plumbers and irrigation technicians install by solvent-cementing the socket end to a plain-end pipe while threading the male end into a female-threaded fitting or valve body.
This adapter is well suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and irrigation applications where a 1-inch Schedule 40 PVC line must transition to a female-threaded connection. Typical use cases include connecting PVC mainlines to threaded valves, manifolds, filters, and pump ports in outdoor irrigation systems, as well as general potable and non-potable water service piping. The UV-resistant compound makes it a preferred choice for exposed above-ground runs in landscape and agricultural irrigation setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 1-inch Schedule 40 PVC piping systems using solvent-cement socket and male-threaded connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified irrigation technicians following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Before installation, shut off the water supply and depressurize the line completely. Apply primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 40 PVC to the pipe and socket end per the cement manufacturer's instructions, and allow full cure time before restoring pressure. Thread the male end into female fittings by hand first, then use a strap wrench to avoid cracking the PVC body — do not use pipe wrenches directly on the fitting.
