The LESSO UV429-010 is a 1-inch Schedule 40 PVC coupling rated for UV resistance, designed for solvent-weld socket-by-socket (SxS) connections. It joins two lengths of 1-inch Schedule 40 PVC pipe in a straight run, creating a pressure-rated, leak-resistant joint when installed with the correct primer and solvent cement. At 0.08 pounds, the fitting is lightweight and easy to handle in tight spaces. UV-resistant formulation makes it suitable for exposed outdoor runs where standard PVC would degrade under prolonged sun exposure. Licensed plumbers and irrigation installers are the primary trades that specify this fitting.
This coupling is appropriate for residential and light commercial plumbing, irrigation, and pool and spa piping systems where 1-inch Schedule 40 PVC is the specified pipe material. Its UV-resistant construction makes it a practical choice for above-ground outdoor installations such as exposed irrigation headers, pool equipment pads, and utility service lines that see direct sunlight. It is not intended for hot-water or CPVC systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-inch Schedule 40 PVC piping systems using solvent-weld joints.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified irrigation technicians following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before cutting into any existing piping. Clean and dry both pipe ends, apply PVC primer to both the pipe and socket, then apply solvent cement and seat the pipe fully with a quarter-turn twist. Allow adequate cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before restoring pressure.
