The LESSO UV402-101 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing tee designed for solvent-welded pressure piping systems. It features a side-side-thread (SST) configuration with 3/4-inch run ports and a 1/2-inch branch outlet, allowing a single fitting to step down branch flow without additional bushings or adapters. The UV-resistant (UVR) formulation helps the fitting maintain structural integrity in exposed or partially exposed installations. At 0.09 pounds, it is a lightweight fitting suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, irrigation, and pool or spa piping applications. Licensed plumbers and irrigation contractors are the primary installers.
This reducing tee is used wherever a 3/4-inch PVC main line requires a reduced 1/2-inch branch takeoff. Typical applications include residential cold-water supply lines, lawn and drip irrigation headers, pool equipment pad piping, and above-ground condensate drain networks where UV exposure is a factor. The SST designation indicates the branch outlet accepts a threaded connection rather than a slip socket, which allows connection to threaded valves, risers, or transition fittings without a separate adapter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with Schedule 40 PVC piping systems using standard 3/4-inch and 1/2-inch solvent-weld and threaded connections per ASTM D2466 dimensional standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified irrigation contractor in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM solvent-cementing guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before cutting in the tee. Use PVC primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 40 fittings on the slip ends, and apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape on the threaded branch connection. Do not use this fitting on hot-water or pressurized steam lines without verifying the system pressure and temperature ratings meet Schedule 40 PVC limits.
