The LENOX 82781GTB195790 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for demanding metal-cutting applications in industrial and fabrication environments. Part of the Contestor GT series, it measures 19 feet in length and 1-1/2 inches in width with a 0.05-inch blade thickness and a variable pitch of 2 to 3 TPI. The back is spring steel, and the teeth are M42 high speed steel with a positive rake angle and Vari-Set tooth set, delivering aggressive chip removal and extended blade life when cutting tough metals. Cutting professionals and maintenance machinists are the primary installers.
This blade is designed for contour-free, straight metal cutting on horizontal and vertical band saws sized to accept a 19-foot blade. It is suited for production cutting of a wide range of metals including alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, tool steel, mold steel, nickel alloy, titanium, aluminum, bearing steel, and other non-ferrous metals. The variable pitch pattern reduces vibration and harmonic resonance across varying material thicknesses, making it a practical choice for shops cutting mixed stock.
Designed as a replacement or new-install bandsaw blade for horizontal and vertical band saw machines that accept a 19-foot blade with a 1-1/2-inch width. Suitable for cutting alloy steel, aluminum, non-ferrous metal, carbon steel, stainless steel, mold steel, nickel alloy, titanium, tool steel, and bearing steel.
Bandsaw blade installation and tensioning should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician with the machine fully de-energized and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify wheel spacing, blade guides, and blade tension according to the saw manufacturer's specifications before powering the machine. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling coiled or uncoiled blades. Do not exceed the blade speed rating of the saw or force the blade through a radius tighter than the blade width allows.
