The LENOX 82733GTB154570 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade built for demanding metal-cutting applications in industrial and trade environments. Measuring 15 feet in length and 1-1/2 inches wide with a 0.05-inch thickness, this blade runs a variable 2 to 3 TPI pitch pattern designed to reduce vibration and improve cut quality across a range of material thicknesses. The tooth body is M42 high speed steel with a Vari-Set tooth set and positive rake angle, ground and finished for consistent kerf control at 0.082 inches. It is installed by machinists, fabricators, and metal trade professionals on vertical or horizontal bandsaws calibrated for this blade length.
This blade is suited for production and job-shop cutting of a wide range of metals including alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, tool steel, mold steel, bearing steel, nickel alloy, titanium, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals. The Contestor GT series variable-pitch geometry helps manage chip load when cutting interrupted cuts or variable cross-sections, making it a practical choice for shops that cycle through multiple material types on the same machine. It is not configured for contour cutting.
Designed to fit bandsaw machines configured for a 15-foot blade length and a 1-1/2-inch blade width. Verify your saw's wheel diameter, blade guide spacing, and tension rating before installation to confirm fitment.
Bandsaw blade installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool-room technician familiar with the specific saw model. Disconnect and lock out power to the machine before removing the existing blade or mounting the new one. Follow the saw manufacturer's tension and tracking specifications for a 1-1/2-inch wide blade — do not estimate tension by feel. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling coiled blades, as the welded loop can spring open unexpectedly during uncoiling.
