The LENOX 1818176 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for demanding metal-cutting applications in professional fabrication and industrial maintenance environments. It measures 15 feet 8 inches in length and 1-1/4 inches in width, with a blade thickness of 0.042 inches and a kerf width of 0.070 inches. The variable-pitch tooth geometry runs at 2 to 3 TPI, reducing harmonic vibration and improving cut finish across a range of material thicknesses. The M42 high speed steel tooth tips are electron-beam welded to a spring steel back, giving the blade the toughness to handle interrupted cuts and hard materials without premature tooth strippage. This blade is installed by machinists, maintenance mechanics, and metal fabricators running production or job-shop bandsaws.
This blade is suited for contour-free straight cutting of alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, tool steel, mold steel, bearing steel, structural steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals. The Vari-Raker tooth set and positive rake angle make it well-matched for structural profiles, solid rounds, and mixed cross-sections where a fixed-pitch blade would chatter or load up. Designed for use on production and job-shop horizontal or vertical metal-cutting bandsaws accepting a 15-foot 8-inch blade length with a 1-1/4-inch blade width. Verify your saw's wheel diameter and blade guide spacing before installation.
Blade installation and tensioning should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance mechanic with the bandsaw fully de-energized and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm that blade guides, wheel brushes, and blade welder are in serviceable condition before mounting a new blade. Allow the blade to run unloaded for a short break-in period at reduced feed pressure on initial cuts to seat the set. Do not exceed the saw manufacturer's rated blade speed for the material being cut.
