The LENOX 1792990 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for demanding metal-cutting applications in professional shop environments. The blade measures 162 inches (13 feet 6 inches) in length and 1-1/4 inches in width, with a 0.042-inch blade thickness and a kerf width of 0.067 inches. The tooth edge runs at a variable 3 to 4 TPI pitch with a Vari-Raker tooth set and a positive rake angle, reducing vibration and improving cut quality across a range of material thicknesses. This blade is part of the LENOX Classic Pro series and is installed by machinists and metal fabricators on vertical or horizontal bandsaws sized for that blade length.
The 1792990 is suited for cutting a wide range of metals in production and job-shop settings. Its M42 high-speed steel tooth material and bi-metal construction — spring steel back bonded to an HSS tooth edge — handle interrupted cuts and variable cross-sections better than carbon-steel blades. Typical applications include structural steel fabrication, tool and die work, mold and bearing steel cutting, and general aluminum and non-ferrous metal processing. The variable pitch pattern helps minimize harmonic resonance on both solid bar and tubing.
Compatible with bandsaw machines accepting a 162-inch (13 feet 6 inches) blade loop in 1-1/4-inch width. Suitable for cutting alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, tool steel, mold steel, bearing steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals. Contour cutting is not supported with this blade.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician. Power down and lockout/tagout the bandsaw completely before removing the old blade or threading the new one through blade guides and wheel guards. Verify wheel tracking, blade tension, and guide bearing clearance per the saw manufacturer specifications before resuming operation. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling the blade coil — the teeth are sharp and the loop can spring unexpectedly when uncoiled.
