Bandsaw blade installation and tensioning should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician following the saw manufacturer's tension and tracking specifications. Power down and lock out the bandsaw before opening the blade guards or removing the existing blade. Ensure wheel guides and blade guides are adjusted to the correct width for a 3/4 inch blade after installation. Blade break-in at reduced feed pressure is standard practice to seat the tooth set before full-rate production cutting.
