The LENOX 1628D2C12127 is a bi-metal band saw blade coil stock designed for continuous cutting operations in metal fabrication, pipe cutting, and general trade work. The coil format allows shops and field technicians to cut blades to the exact length needed for their saw, reducing waste and keeping a single spool on hand for multiple machines. The blade is 1/2 inch wide and 0.025 inches thick, with a variable pitch tooth pattern ranging from 14 to 18 teeth per inch (TPI). The tooth material is high-speed steel set in a wavy pattern, and the back is flexible for tight radius contour cutting.
This coil stock is suited for metal-cutting band saws used in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and general mechanical trades. The variable pitch TPI range reduces vibration and harmonic noise during cuts, making it effective on a range of tube, pipe, and structural stock. The 250-foot coil length provides enough material for a high-volume shop or service fleet to weld and dress multiple blades before restocking. It is appropriate for both horizontal and vertical band saw configurations where a 1/2-inch blade width is specified.
Designed as a coil-stock replacement for band saws specifying a 1/2-inch wide bi-metal blade. Cut and weld to length per individual saw requirements.
Blade welding and dressing should be performed by qualified personnel using a blade welder appropriate for bi-metal stock. Ensure the saw is fully de-energized and blade tension released before removing or installing any blade. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling coil stock, as the toothed edge presents a laceration hazard. Verify blade tracking, tension, and guide alignment after installation and before returning the saw to service.
