The LENOX 1131MAC12127 is a bi-metal band saw blade coil stock designed for demanding cut-off and contour cutting applications in trade and industrial environments. The coil measures 250 feet in length with a 1/2-inch blade width and 0.020-inch thickness, giving fabricators and pipefitters extended stock to cut custom blade lengths as needed. The tooth edge is high speed steel with a wavy set and variable pitch of 14-18 teeth per inch, which reduces vibration and harmonics across a range of material thicknesses. The flexible back construction resists cracking under the repeated stress of band saw operation.
This coil stock is suited for metal fabrication shops, mechanical contractors, and pipefitting operations that run horizontal or vertical band saws and prefer to weld their own blades on-site. The variable pitch tooth pattern handles both thin-wall tubing and solid stock without requiring a blade change, making it a practical choice for shops cutting a mixed range of materials. The wavy set reduces blade binding in ferrous and non-ferrous metals alike. Contour cutting capability is built in, allowing for curved cuts where required.
Designed as a coil stock replacement for band saws accepting 1/2-inch wide bi-metal blades. Blade lengths are shop-welded to fit specific saw models and wheel diameters.
Blade welding and grinding should be performed by a qualified technician using a blade butt welder appropriate for bi-metal stock. Ensure the band saw is fully powered down and the blade tension released before removing or installing any blade. Set blade tension and tracking per the saw manufacturer specifications before operating. Wear appropriate cut-resistant PPE when handling coil stock, as edges are sharp throughout the full coil length.
