The LEGRAND WR20-TRI is a heavy-duty, weather-resistant duplex receptacle rated for 20 amperes at 125 volts AC, configured to the 5-20R standard. Built for commercial-grade applications, it features a PVC back body and UV-resistant nylon face that holds up in wet, damp, and high-UV environments. The receptacle incorporates an auto-ground clip for positive grounding, tri-drive brass terminal screws, and 0.032-inch-thick brass triple-wipe power contacts for long-term retention. A licensed electrician installs this device as part of a code-compliant branch circuit installation where weather protection is required.
This receptacle is suited for commercial and light industrial locations where outlets must meet weather-resistant requirements per NEC guidelines. Typical installations include exterior walls, covered patios, mechanical rooms, pool equipment areas, and other wet or damp-location environments. The 5-20R configuration accepts both 15-amp and 20-amp straight-blade plugs, making it broadly compatible with standard cord-connected equipment. The break-off line-contact connecting tab supports split-circuit wiring when needed, and back and side wire entry options provide flexibility during rough-in.
Designed as an OEM-style commercial-grade replacement or new-installation 5-20R duplex receptacle for wet and damp location branch circuits requiring weather-resistant devices per NEC Article 406.
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the panel and verify absence of voltage with a meter before making any wiring connections. Use an appropriate weatherproof in-use cover plate rated for the location to maintain the weather-resistant integrity of the installation. The WR marking on the face must remain visible after installation as required by UL.
