The LEGRAND SP83 is a 3-gang, standard-size wall plate designed for three duplex receptacle configurations in commercial, industrial, and residential electrical installations. Constructed from 0.07-inch-thick thermoset plastic, this plate offers a smooth brown finish that resists discoloration, grease, oil, solvents, and moisture. The non-combustible, mar-proof thermoset material provides durable long-term performance in demanding environments. Licensed electricians and qualified installers use this plate as a finish component to cover and protect wiring devices in standard electrical boxes. Each unit ships individually wrapped with color-matching screws included, keeping trim work clean and consistent.
The SP83 is suited for standard 3-gang electrical box installations across commercial offices, industrial facilities, and residential settings. The screw-mount design is compatible with standard-depth device boxes where three duplex receptacles are installed side by side. The brown finish blends with traditional decor and meets the needs of facilities requiring consistent color coordination across multiple outlets. This plate is appropriate wherever a code-compliant, finished cover is required for a 3-gang duplex outlet installation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation cover for standard 3-gang electrical device boxes configured with duplex receptacles in commercial, industrial, and residential applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) requirements. De-energize the circuit at the breaker panel and verify absence of voltage before handling any wiring devices or installing the cover plate. Align the plate over the device box opening, seat the duplex receptacle yokes flush, and fasten with the included color-matching screws — do not overtighten, as thermoset plastic can crack under excessive torque. Confirm the plate lies flat against the wall surface before restoring power.
