The LEGRAND 1597NTLTRI is a duplex GFCI receptacle with an integrated night light, rated for 15 amps at 125 volts AC (60 Hz) in a 5-15R configuration. Designed for specification-grade residential and light commercial installations, it provides ground fault circuit interruption combined with a low-level indicator light in a single device. The unit features a self-test function that automatically checks ground fault protection and flashes the indicator light if the device fails, signaling the need for replacement. The body and face are constructed from high-impact nylon. Licensed electricians install this device where ground fault protection is required by the NEC.
The 1597NTLTRI is suited for residential bathrooms, kitchens, garages, crawl spaces, and other damp or wet locations requiring GFCI protection under NEC Article 210.8. The tamper-resistant shutter system makes it appropriate for installations in homes and facilities where child safety compliance is required. The ivory finish integrates with standard decor plate systems. Its thinner profile is well suited to shallow or congested electrical boxes, and the back-wire termination with two holes per terminal reduces the need for pigtailing in multi-outlet circuits.
Designed as an OEM-style specification-grade GFCI replacement or new-installation device for standard duplex receptacle locations requiring 15A, 125V, 5-15R ground fault protection.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the breaker panel and verify absence of voltage with a meter before beginning work. Follow the line and load terminal markings precisely — this device includes miswire protection that will prevent operation if terminals are reversed. The ground terminal clamp and auto-ground clip require a proper equipment ground conductor for correct operation.
