The LEGEND VALVE 118-QK is a wrot copper reducer coupling designed to connect two pipes of different diameters within a plumbing or hydronic system. This fitting transitions from a 1-1/4-inch pipe to a 3/4-inch pipe using a sweat-solder end connection on each side. Wrot copper construction means the fitting is formed from wrought copper, giving it a denser grain structure and tighter dimensional tolerances compared to cast copper fittings. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of coupling during new construction, remodel, and repair work on residential and light commercial water distribution systems.
This reducer coupling is suited for potable water supply lines, hydronic heating loops, and general plumbing applications where a pipe size reduction is required in-line. The sweat-solder connection method is standard practice on copper distribution systems and is compatible with common lead-free solder and flux used in potable water service. It fits into any run where a 1-1/4-inch main needs to step down to a 3/4-inch branch or outlet.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for copper pipe systems requiring an inline reduction from 1-1/4-inch to 3/4-inch nominal pipe size.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and fully drain the line before cutting or fitting any section of pipe. Clean all pipe ends and fitting cups thoroughly with emery cloth and apply an appropriate lead-free flux before soldering. Allow the joint to cool completely before restoring water pressure or insulating the line.
