The LEGEND VALVE 113-404 is a non-rising stem gate valve built for isolation service in plumbing and mechanical piping systems. Constructed with a stainless steel body and solid wedge disc, it provides reliable shutoff where corrosion resistance is a priority. Rated at 600 WOG (water, oil, gas) and 125 WSP (working steam pressure), this valve handles demanding service conditions across a wide range of fluid types. The non-rising stem design keeps the actuating stem stationary during operation, making it well suited for installations with limited vertical clearance above the valve. Threaded end connections allow for straightforward installation into standard 3/4 inch NPT piping systems without the need for welding or flanging.
This valve is intended for use in residential and light commercial plumbing, hydronic heating, industrial piping, and mechanical room applications where a full-bore isolation valve is required. The 3/4 inch pipe size fits common branch and mainline configurations found in water supply, heating, and process piping. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers, though qualified HVAC technicians working on hydronic systems will also encounter this fitting. Its stainless steel construction makes it a practical choice in environments where carbon steel or brass valves would face accelerated corrosion due to fluid chemistry or ambient conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install gate valve for 3/4 inch NPT threaded piping systems in plumbing, hydronic, and mechanical applications requiring a non-rising stem configuration.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off system pressure and drain the affected line before removing any existing valve or making new connections. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to male NPT threads before assembly and tighten to hand-tight plus additional turns as appropriate for the fitting size — do not over-torque stainless steel threads. Verify system pressure does not exceed the valve's rated WOG or WSP limits before returning the line to service.
