The LEGEND VALVE 105-509 is a bronze Y-strainer designed for installation in piping systems where debris and particulate must be kept out of downstream equipment. Configured with female NPT (FNPT) ends on a 2.5-inch pipe connection, it delivers a 300 psi WOG (water, oil, gas) pressure rating and a 150 psi WSP (working steam pressure) rating. The Y-strainer body is constructed from bronze, offering good corrosion resistance in potable water, hydronic, and light industrial service. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors install this type of strainer to protect pumps, valves, meters, and other inline components from fouling.

This strainer is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, hydronic heating, and light industrial piping where a 2.5-inch FNPT connection is required. It is appropriate for cold and hot water service, steam systems within the rated pressure limits, and oil or gas applications within the WOG rating. Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASME B31 piping standards. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before threading the strainer into the line. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads of the adjoining pipe before makeup. Orient the strainer body so the blow-off cap or plug faces downward or to the side to allow gravity-assisted sediment collection and easy screen access during service.
