The LEGEND VALVE 105-502NL is a lead-free bronze Y-strainer designed to remove debris and particulate from fluid systems in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic applications. Threaded female NPT connections on both ends allow straightforward inline installation without specialty fittings. The body carries a 300 psi WOG (water, oil, gas) rating and a 150 psi WSP (working steam pressure) rating, making it suitable for a broad range of low- and medium-pressure service. The 20-mesh screen captures particles that would otherwise damage valves, meters, and equipment downstream. A licensed plumber or pipefitter typically handles installation in potable water systems where lead-free compliance is required.
This Y-strainer is used in residential and commercial potable water lines, hydronic heating systems, and process piping where particulate control is needed upstream of sensitive components such as control valves, pressure regulators, and flow meters. The lead-free bronze construction meets applicable standards for drinking water contact, making it appropriate for domestic water service. Its compact body fits in tight mechanical spaces while still providing accessible blowdown for screen cleaning and maintenance.
Designed as an OEM-style inline replacement or new-installation Y-strainer for 3/8 inch female NPT piping systems in residential and light commercial plumbing, hydronic, and process applications where lead-free bronze construction is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 threading standards. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into any existing line. Orient the Y body so the screen leg points downward or horizontally to allow sediment to collect and facilitate blowdown without full system shutdown. Use appropriate thread sealant rated for the service fluid and confirm all joints are leak-free before returning the system to operating pressure.
