The Leeson Brakekit 6 Ft-Lb is designed to convert 56 through 256T frame stock TEFC motors into fail-safe brakemotors. The kit attaches to the fan end of the motor and provides essential components for reliable operation. Included in the kit for 56-184T steel frame motors is a totally enclosed Stearns AC brake, a replacement cast fan cover, a shaft extension, a fan, and necessary hardware. For 213T-256T cast iron frame motors, the kit is compatible with Stearns 87,000 series brakes and has no brake included. It also features two half-inch NPT holes with 18 leads for easy connections. The Brakekit extends the overall length by 5.125 inches for 56 and 143-5T frame motors, and 5.875 inches for 182-184T frame motors.
