The LAMBRO INDUSTRIES 289w is a 4-inch exhaust wall vent seal designed to terminate dryer exhaust and bath fan ductwork at exterior wall penetrations. The unit uses a floating damper that rises under exhaust air pressure during dryer or fan operation, allowing air to exit through the vent bottom. When the appliance shuts off, the damper drops back into the closed position under its own weight, blocking outside air, insects, and debris from entering the duct system. Constructed from high-impact polystyrene (HIPS), it is lightweight, weather-resistant, and can be painted to match the exterior wall surface. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and general contractors install this type of fitting during new construction and retrofit work.
The 289w is suited for residential applications where a clothes dryer or bath exhaust fan vents through an exterior wall. It mounts over an existing 4-inch vent pipe collar, making it a straightforward replacement for damaged or missing wall terminations. Its white HIPS construction holds paint well for integration with vinyl, wood, stucco, and fiber-cement siding. The floating damper design eliminates the need for spring-loaded mechanisms that can stick or corrode over time, reducing long-term maintenance demands on the fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement wall termination for 4-inch residential dryer exhaust and bath fan duct systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician or contractor in accordance with local mechanical codes and the appliance manufacturer instructions. Disconnect power to the dryer or exhaust fan before beginning work. Mount the vent seal over the exterior duct collar using appropriate exterior-grade fasteners and seal the perimeter with weatherproof caulk to prevent water infiltration. Do not install this fitting on gas appliance flues or any duct carrying combustion gases.
