The LAARS mftcw140na2xn is a condensing, wall-mounted combination boiler designed for simultaneous space heating and domestic hot water production. Part of the FT Series, it delivers 129,000 BTU of output from a 140,000 BTU input, achieving 95% thermal efficiency. Operating on natural gas or propane at 120 volts, it mounts directly to the wall to save floor space in mechanical rooms. The unit is engineered for residential and light commercial applications where a single appliance must meet both hydronic heating and DHW demand. Installation and commissioning must be performed by a licensed mechanical contractor in accordance with manufacturer instructions and applicable codes.
This combi boiler is suited for residential and small commercial buildings where space heating and domestic hot water are integrated into one system. The dual-fuel capability — natural gas or propane — makes it adaptable across utility zones. A minimum flow rate of 0.5 GPM keeps the unit from short-cycling during low-demand DHW draws. The wall-mount configuration is commonly used in utility closets, basements, and mechanical rooms where floor space is limited. Licensed hydronic heating contractors and plumbers are the primary installers for this equipment type.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct installation unit within the LAARS FT Series of high-efficiency wall-mounted combi boilers for natural gas or propane hydronic heating systems.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or hydronic heating contractor in compliance with local mechanical codes, the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before servicing or connecting any piping. Verify pressure relief valve sizing and venting configuration meet local code requirements prior to commissioning. Do not operate the unit below the minimum flow rate of 0.5 GPM, as insufficient flow can cause operational faults or heat exchanger damage.
