The L H Dottie TBC83 is a 1/8 inch by 3 inch toggle bolt designed for fastening into hollow walls and ceilings where solid backing is not available. Each bolt features a combination slotted and Phillips drive head, giving installers flexibility to drive with either a flathead or Phillips screwdriver. Sold in a 50-count pack, the TBC83 is a standard fastener used by electricians, HVAC technicians, and general contractors when securing conduit hangers, junction boxes, light fixtures, and similar hardware to drywall or plaster surfaces.
Toggle bolts are a common solution in commercial and residential applications where anchoring into hollow wall cavities is required. The spring-loaded wing mechanism spreads behind the wall surface upon insertion, distributing load across a wider bearing area. The TBC83 is well suited for overhead and vertical hollow-wall installations where mechanical anchoring to a stud is not practical.
Designed as a standard 1/8 inch by 3 inch toggle bolt for use in hollow drywall, plaster, and similar hollow-cavity wall and ceiling assemblies common in residential and commercial construction.
Toggle bolts are installed by electricians, HVAC technicians, and other trades requiring hollow-wall anchoring. Before installation, de-energize any circuits in the work area and verify the cavity is clear of wiring or obstructions. Drill the correct-diameter hole to allow the folded toggle to pass through, insert the bolt with the toggle threaded on, and tighten until the wings seat firmly against the back of the wall surface. Do not overtighten, as excessive torque can pull through drywall or plaster facing.
