The L H Dottie Co RW84 is a reducing washer designed to adapt a larger knockout opening to a smaller conduit fitting or connector. Sized at 3 inches outer diameter with a 1-1/4 inch center opening, it fills the gap left by oversized knockouts in electrical enclosures, panels, and junction boxes. The washer creates a secure, flush seat for the connector and helps maintain the integrity of the enclosure. Electricians and electrical contractors install this hardware accessory during panel builds, service upgrades, and conduit rough-in work.
This reducing washer is used in residential and commercial electrical installations wherever a knockout in a panel, load center, or enclosure does not match the conduit fitting being installed. It is placed over the knockout opening before the connector locknut is tightened, effectively reducing the opening size to accept a 1-1/4 inch fitting. Common install scenarios include service panels, sub-panels, junction boxes, and pull boxes where mixed knockout sizes are encountered.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use reducing washer for electrical panels, load centers, junction boxes, and conduit enclosures requiring a 3 inch to 1-1/4 inch knockout reduction.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the panel or enclosure before beginning any knockout work or fitting installation. Place the reducing washer flat over the knockout opening, then install the conduit connector and tighten the locknut securely against the washer. Do not substitute reducing washers for proper listed fittings where the NEC requires a listed connector.
