The L H DOTTIE CO PB400 is a plastic bushing designed for use with 4-inch rigid conduit systems. It installs at the end of a conduit run to protect wire insulation from abrasion at the conduit mouth. Without a properly fitted bushing, sharp metal edges at conduit terminations can damage conductor insulation during pull-through, creating code violations and potential failure points. The PB400 is a single-piece unit sold individually and suited for installation by licensed electricians working on commercial or residential wiring systems where rigid metal conduit is used.
This bushing is used at conduit termination points where rigid conduit enters enclosures, junction boxes, panels, or other electrical equipment. It is appropriate for 4-inch rigid conduit applications in both new construction and retrofit work. Electricians working on larger conduit runs, such as feeder conduit entering distribution panels or service equipment, will encounter this fitting size regularly. The plastic construction resists corrosion and provides electrical isolation at the termination point.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 4-inch rigid metal conduit systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize all circuits in the affected conduit run before pulling conductors. The bushing threads or snaps onto the end of the conduit and should be fully seated before conductors are pulled through. Follow NEC requirements for conduit terminations and conductor protection at all entry points into enclosures and equipment.
