The KYOCERA TWE64432 is an uncoated solid carbide turning insert in WNMG style, designed for precision material removal on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the KW10 manufacturer grade, which is a straight tungsten carbide (WC-Co) uncoated substrate optimized for non-ferrous metals and superalloys. The insert features an 80-degree trigon shape with a negative rake angle of -9 degrees and a honed cutting edge. With a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle and a corner radius of 0.0313 inches (1/32 inch), it delivers consistent geometry on finish and semi-finish turning passes. A licensed machinist or CNC operator typically selects this insert for applications demanding sharp, uncoated edges to avoid built-up edge on gummy materials.
This insert is suited for external turning, boring, internal facing, chamfering, and facing operations, primarily on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper alloys, and brass, as well as superalloys coded N and S per ISO workpiece classification. Secondary suitability covers cast iron (ISO material code K). It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO designation of WNMG080408AH. The AH chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation across these material categories. This insert is sold individually (package quantity of 1).
Designed for use in WNMG-style insert toolholders with clamp and pin holding methods. Compatible with standard WNMG 432 seat toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO mounting specifications. Verify toolholder pocket geometry, insert seat, and clamping style before installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Always index or replace inserts with the machine fully stopped and the spindle locked. Use the correct torque wrench for the clamping screw to avoid cracking the carbide substrate — refer to the toolholder manufacturer's torque specification. Inspect the insert seat and clamping pin for wear or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination will affect runout and edge life.
