Product Description

The KYOCERA TSJ02660 is a cermet turning insert in the TPG221 TN60 grade, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC turning applications. It features a triangular insert shape with a 60-degree included angle, a 1/4-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius. The TN60 cermet grade carries a TiCN plus NbC coating classification and is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes on steel and stainless steel. With a positive rake geometry and an 11-degree relief angle, this insert reduces cutting forces and promotes clean chip evacuation. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible toolholders on lathes and turning centers.

The TSJ02660 is engineered for external turning, boring, chamfering, and facing operations on steel and stainless steel workpieces. It is rated for material grades P01, P10, and P20, making it a practical choice for fine finishing cuts and light semi-finishing passes where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are priorities. The neutral hand orientation suits a wide range of standard TPG-style toolholders. This insert is sold individually per package, with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.

Key Features

  • Cermet insert material with TiCN plus NbC coating for extended wear resistance on steel
  • Triangular insert shape (T) with 60-degree included angle and 3 usable cutting edges
  • Positive rake geometry with 11-degree relief angle reduces cutting forces
  • 1/64-inch corner radius suited for finishing and semi-finishing cuts
  • Rated for multi-use applications: external turning, boring, chamfering, and facing
  • Compliant with ANSI and ISO standards; ISO code TPGN110304

Compatibility

Designed for use in TPG-style clamp-type toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO ISOI series standards. Compatible with turning and boring operations on steel (P01, P10, P20) and stainless steel workpieces. Verify toolholder seat size against a 1/4-inch inscribed circle and 1/8-inch insert thickness before installation.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Seat the insert firmly against the toolholder pocket using the appropriate clamp and torx or hex key per the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Inspect the pocket and clamp for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper support and accurate tool geometry.
