The KYOCERA TSJ00795 is a cermet turning insert in the DNMG431GP geometry, designed for precision metal-cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 55-degree diamond shape with a negative rake angle of -10 degrees and a honed cutting edge style, delivering consistent, repeatable performance in finishing and semi-finishing passes. The TN60 cermet grade provides high wear resistance without a coating, making it well-suited for clean, low-friction cuts in steel and stainless steel applications. With four usable cutting edges per insert, it offers extended tool life per piece. The insert is held by clamp and pin and meets both ANSI and ISO standards.
This insert is intended for external turning, boring, and copying operations in production and job-shop environments. It is rated primarily for steel workpieces (ISO material code P), with a secondary rating for stainless steel. The chip breaker designation GP is suited for general-purpose turning with controlled chip formation. Licensed machinists, CNC programmers, and toolroom technicians working in metalworking and precision machining operations are the primary users. It is sold individually per package but requires a minimum order of 10 pieces.
Designed for use in standard DNMG-style toolholders compatible with DNMG431 inserts per ANSI and ISO specifications. ISO code equivalent is DNMG150404GP. Suitable for boring, copying, and external turning applications on steel and stainless steel workpieces across ISO material grades P01, P10, and P20.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel with the machine spindle fully stopped and all power isolated before changing inserts. Seat the insert firmly against the pocket locating surfaces and verify the clamp and pin are properly engaged before resuming cutting operations. Index or replace the insert when flank wear reaches the limit specified in the toolholder manufacturer guidelines to avoid workpiece damage. Follow applicable shop safety procedures for handling carbide and cermet cutting tools, including eye protection against edge chipping during handling.
