The KYOCERA TMH00402 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal-cutting operations on steel workpieces. It carries grade CA025P with a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, providing wear resistance and thermal stability across a broad range of cutting conditions. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape (shape code C), a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/64-inch corner radius, and a positive rake angle of 15 degrees with a honed cutting edge. The HQ chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip flow. Two cutting edges are available per insert, and the insert is held in place by a screw-clamp system. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in production and job-shop turning applications.

This insert is suited for turning, boring, and internal facing operations on steel. It is classified under material grades P10, P20, P30, and P40, making it applicable across a range of steel types from low-carbon to alloy steels. Installation Notes

Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating to ensure proper contact and runout.
