The KYOCERA TLE00282 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance metal removal in non-ferrous machining applications. Carrying the ANSI/ISO designation BDGT170408FR-JA and manufacturer grade PDL025, this single-sided, right-hand insert features a parallelogram shape with an 82-degree included angle and a positive rake geometry. The Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating process delivers a sharp cutting edge with reduced friction, which is especially effective when cutting aluminum, copper, and other non-ferrous materials. With a thickness of 0.1929 inches and an inscribed circle of 0.3780 inches, it fits the MEC cutter series and is held in place via screw clamp. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible face mill and end mill bodies for finishing and semi-finishing passes.
This insert is intended for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials, designated by material code N. It is suited for use in the KYOCERA MEC cutter series. The FR-JA chip breaker geometry promotes clean chip evacuation and sharp cutting action, making it appropriate for high-speed milling of aluminum alloys, brass, and similar materials in production environments. With two cutting edges per insert and a maximum depth of cut of 0.6693 inches, it supports efficient material removal across a range of light to moderate milling operations on CNC machining centers.
Designed for use with the KYOCERA MEC cutter series. ANSI code BDGT170408FRJAPDL025; ISO code BDGT170408FR-JA. Confirm body and pocket compatibility with the MEC series specification before installation.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the screw clamp to the tool body manufacturer's specified procedure. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before seating the new insert. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut for the cutter body in use.
