The KYOCERA TLC09310 is a WNMU080608EN-GM style trigon milling insert manufactured from solid carbide and finished with KYOCERA MEGACOAT NANO PVD coating in grade PR1535. The trigon insert geometry features an 80-degree included angle, a neutral hand orientation, and a negative rake angle with a honed cutting edge style. Six cutting edges are available per insert, and the EN-GM chip breaker geometry supports stable chip evacuation across a range of milling applications. The insert measures 6.65 mm (0.2618 inches) thick with a 14.02 mm length and a 0.5520-inch inscribed circle diameter. Insert holding is by screw clamp. This insert is used by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC milling operations.
This insert is engineered primarily for milling stainless steel and superalloys including titanium, where the PR1535 PVD-coated carbide grade provides wear resistance and edge stability under demanding cutting conditions. Secondary material suitability extends to steel, cast iron, and additional superalloy families. The WNMU080608EN-GM insert is compatible with KYOCERA MFWN series milling cutter bodies. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.5208 inches. The double-sided insert design doubles usable edge life per insert consumed, making it an efficient choice for high-volume production environments.
Designed for use with KYOCERA MFWN series milling cutter bodies. ISO code WNMU080608EN-GM and ANSI code WNMU080608ENGMPR1535 conform to ANSI and ISO insert standards for interchangeability reference.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle locked and machine power off. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when tightening the clamp screw - do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Inspect the pocket seat and clamp surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Follow the cutter body manufacturer's recommended cutting parameters for feed rate and speed when running PR1535 grade in stainless steel or superalloy applications.
