The KYOCERA TLC04450 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for use in high-performance face and shoulder milling operations. Manufactured to LPGT010210ER-GM geometry with PR1535 grade designation, this insert features a MEGACOAT NANO PVD coating that delivers wear resistance and edge stability when cutting difficult materials. It measures 4.19 mm wide and 2.19 mm thick, carries a 1.00 mm corner radius, and provides two cutting edges per insert. The ER-GM chip breaker geometry supports smooth chip evacuation across a range of feed rates. Installation is handled by licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians setting up milling tool bodies in the MFH cutter series.
This insert is engineered primarily for stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, with secondary suitability for carbon steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous materials. The positive rake geometry and honed cutting edge reduce cutting forces on workpiece surfaces that are prone to work hardening or heat buildup, making it well suited for aerospace, medical, and general precision machining environments. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and light ramping operations where edge stability and surface finish consistency are critical. The right-hand orientation and screw-clamp holding method are compatible with standard MFH series tool body setups.
Designed for use with the KYOCERA MFH cutter series tool bodies. The insert style is LPGT with size code 010210, compatible with MFH series holders that accept right-hand, screw-held LPGT geometry inserts. ANSI code: LPGT010210ERGMPR1535. ISO code: LPGT010210ER-GM.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the tool body manufacturer when tightening the clamping screw — do not overtighten or use impact tools on insert screws. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw threads for debris or damage before installing a fresh insert.
