The KYOCERA TKE03407 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the DCGT3251MFRJ industry designation and operates in the PR1225 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied MEGACOAT finish. The insert features a 55-degree diamond shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius. With a positive rake angle of 14 degrees and a sharp cutting edge style, it is built for clean, controlled cuts in demanding turning applications. Installation is handled by screw-type insert holding.
This insert is engineered primarily for stainless steel (ISO material code M) and is also rated for steel (ISO material code P), covering material grades P10 through P30 and M10 through M40. Typical applications include external turning, back boring, copying, and sub-spindle operations on both manual and CNC lathes. The right-hand cut orientation suits standard spindle setups. It is appropriate for job shops and production environments where surface finish and tool life on difficult alloys are priorities.
Designed for use in screw-type toolholders accepting DCGT-style inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards; ISO code DCGT11T304MFR-J. Verify toolholder seat and clamp style before installation.
Turning insert installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque driver or hex key for the clamp screw to ensure the insert seats fully without rocking. Inspect the pocket seat and clamp for chips or wear before seating a new insert.
