Product Description

The KYOCERA TJV07627 is a VNMG 332 MQ indexable turning insert in grade CA6525, designed for precision metal-cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN over a solid carbide substrate, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding cutting conditions. It has a 35-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/32-inch corner radius, and a 3/16-inch insert thickness. The MQ chip breaker geometry is optimized for controlled chip formation across a broad range of feed rates and depths. Four cutting edges are available per insert.

This insert is engineered for external turning, facing, copying, and undercutting applications. Its primary workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO material code M), with a secondary rating for superalloys (ISO material code S), placing it in material grades M20, S20, and S30. It is suited for both roughing and semi-finishing passes where consistent chip control and edge life are critical. The CA6525 grade performs reliably in interrupted cuts and at elevated cutting temperatures typical of austenitic stainless and nickel-based alloy machining. This insert is a multi-use tool appropriate for production turning environments.

Key Features

  • CVD multilayer coating: TiCN, Al2O3, TiN for extended tool life in stainless and superalloy cutting
  • 35-degree diamond insert shape (VNMG) with neutral hand orientation
  • MQ chip breaker geometry supports copying, external turning, facing, and undercutting
  • Four usable cutting edges per insert for cost efficiency
  • Honed cutting edge style reduces micro-chipping on work-hardening materials
  • Compatible with clamp and pin insert-holding methods
  • Meets ANSI and ISO standards; ISO code VNMG160408MQ

Compatibility

Designed for use in VNMG-style turning toolholders that accept a 332 insert size with clamp or pin retention. Confirmed multi-use application: copying, external turning, facing, and undercutting. Industry standard number VNMG332MQCA6525; ISO code VNMG160408MQ.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and confirm the clamp or pin is secure before resuming cuts. Do not use a damaged or chipped cutting edge, as this can cause unpredictable tool failure and workpiece damage.
