The KYOCERA TJV02256 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMG431MS geometry, grade CA6525, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, which builds wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting zone. The insert has a 55-degree diamond shape, a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, a 1/64-inch corner radius, and a negative rake angle of -19 degrees. Four cutting edges are available per insert. The chamfered and honed cutting edge style, combined with the MS chip breaker geometry, supports controlled chip evacuation during interrupted and continuous cuts on difficult-to-machine materials.
This insert is suited for external turning, boring, and copying operations in production and job-shop environments. Its primary target workpiece material is stainless steel, with a secondary rating for superalloys. The CA6525 grade and MS chip breaker combination are selected for applications requiring toughness and edge stability when cutting austenitic stainless grades and nickel-based superalloys at moderate-to-aggressive depths of cut. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, medical, and process-industry component manufacturing will recognize this geometry as a standard fit for these material families.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production insert for DNMG-style toolholders using clamp and pin holding methods, conforming to ANSI and ISO standards under ISO code DNMG150404MS. Industry standard number DNMG431MSCA6525. Compatible with material grades M20, S20, and S30 application ranges.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is indexed to a safe position before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench for the clamp screw to avoid seat distortion or insert cracking — refer to the toolholder manufacturer's specification for torque values. Verify insert seating against the pocket locating surfaces before resuming cuts.
