The KYOCERA TCR61120 is a round ceramic turning insert designed for high-speed material removal on cast iron and hard materials. It carries an A65 manufacturer grade with an Al2O3 and TiC uncoated ceramic construction, delivering wear resistance in demanding cutting environments. The insert features a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, a 0.25-inch corner radius, and a 5/16-inch thickness. With four available cutting edges and a full-radius round shape, it extends tool life while reducing per-edge cost. Licensed ISOI-series geometry makes it a fit for external turning, facing, roll machining, and undercutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers.
This insert is intended for professional machining applications targeting cast iron and hard workpiece materials in material grade classifications K01, K10, H01, and H10. It is suited for both external turning and facing passes where consistent surface finish and tool stability are priorities. The neutral hand orientation and positive rake geometry support a broad range of toolholder setups. The insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO code of RCGX120700P20015 and an industry standard number of RCGX104T08015625AAA65. It is sold individually and requires a minimum order of 10 units.
Designed for use in RCGX-style clamp toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO insert standards. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and hard materials per material grade codes K01, K10, H01, and H10. Refer to toolholder manufacturer specifications to confirm seating and clamping compatibility before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling setup technicians on CNC or manual turning equipment. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing the insert. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating the new insert. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut of 0.25 inches to avoid insert fracture.
