The KYOCERA TCR00970 is a ceramic turning insert designed for high-speed material removal on cast iron and hard materials. It carries the DNGA432T00825 A65 industry standard designation and conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards. The insert features a 55-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation and a negative rake angle, making it well-suited for interrupted and continuous cutting operations. Coated with an Al2O3 and TiC layered finish applied via an uncoated classification process, it delivers thermal resistance and edge stability at elevated cutting speeds. With four available cutting edges, it offers extended tool life per insert.

This insert is applied in external turning, boring, and copying operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It is primarily used on cast iron and hard workpiece materials, matching material grades K01, K10, H01, and H10. The insert is held by clamp and pin methods, which are standard across most DNGA-compatible toolholders. Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the turret locked out before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench on the clamp screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification to avoid cracking the ceramic body. Ceramic inserts are brittle and must not be used for heavy interrupted cuts beyond the rated maximum depth of cut.
