The KYOCERA SGS PRECISION TOOLS 67103 is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in a wide range of workpiece materials. Built from solid carbide and coated with Ti-NAMITE-X, it delivers extended tool life and reduced cutting forces compared to uncoated high-speed steel alternatives. The 180-degree flat-bottom point makes it well suited for flat-bottomed hole applications and precise entry without a center punch. At 5.80 mm (0.2283 inch) in diameter with a 60.00 mm overall length, this bit fits standard straight-cylindrical chuck systems and is designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine operations.
This drill bit is intended for professionals running production drilling operations where consistency and hole quality matter. The screw machine (stub) length format provides added rigidity over jobber-length bits, reducing deflection in tight-tolerance work. With a right-hand spiral flute configuration and a flute-to-diameter ratio of 2xD, it handles chip evacuation efficiently in shallow-depth drilling up to 20.30 mm. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working in metalworking, manufacturing, and precision fabrication environments are the primary installers and users of this tool.
Designed for universal workpiece material compatibility across ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting that shank diameter. Part of the Series 136U product line.
This drill bit is installed and operated by machinists and CNC technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the chuck or collet to the recommended grip depth to prevent slippage under cutting loads. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 20.30 mm per pass without retracting to clear chips. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool, so flood or mist coolant applied externally at the cutting zone is the recommended thermal management method.
