The KYOCERA OTM86626 is a parallelogram-style indexable milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation XPMT090208TN100M with manufacturer grade TN100M cermet substrate. Cermet grades combine ceramic and metallic binders to deliver high wear resistance and surface finish quality in finish and semi-finish milling operations. This single-sided insert features a positive rake geometry, honed cutting edge, and an 11-degree relief angle, giving it a free-cutting profile that reduces heat buildup and extends tool life on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Two cutting edges are available per insert, and the screw-clamping hold method keeps it secure under interrupted and continuous cut conditions.
This insert is suited for milling applications on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals in both production and job-shop environments. It is compatible with EM and CM cutter series bodies and fits the OTMM series tooling platform. The positive rake and common chip breaker geometry make it a practical choice for light-to-moderate depths of cut in CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are priorities. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the typical end users for this insert grade and style.
Designed for use with EM and CM cutter series bodies in the OTMM series tooling platform. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards under designation XPMT090208. Manufacturer catalog reference is XPMT090208.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the tool body manufacturer's specification - do not overtighten or undertighten the screw, as improper clamping leads to insert movement and pocket damage. Inspect the pocket seat and screw threads for debris or wear before installing a new insert.
