The KRYLON EDE161307 is a black, gloss-finish, heat-resistant aerosol paint formulated for automotive applications. Packaged in a 12 oz aerosol can with an EZ Touch conical nozzle, it delivers controlled, even spray coverage across underhood and high-heat surfaces. Rated to a maximum of 500 degrees F, this coating is designed to hold up against the thermal cycling common in engine compartments and exhaust-adjacent components. The formula is resistant to oil and other automotive fluids, making it suitable for surfaces that see regular fluid exposure. Automotive technicians and professional detailers reach for this type of product when refinishing headers, valve covers, brake calipers, and similar components.
This paint is suited for use on metal surfaces in both passenger vehicle and light commercial vehicle applications. The aerosol delivery and conical nozzle make it practical for spot refinishing or full component recoating in a shop environment. Typical uses include engine block touch-up, exhaust manifold coating, and other underhood refinishing tasks where heat resistance and a clean gloss appearance are required. Coverage is rated at 14 square feet per can. Dry time is 30 minutes under normal shop conditions.
Designed for use on metal automotive components requiring heat-resistant finishing, including headers, manifolds, valve covers, brake calipers, and similar high-temperature surfaces.
Surface preparation is critical before application — clean the target area thoroughly and remove rust, grease, and loose paint prior to coating. Allow the component to reach ambient temperature before spraying; do not apply to a hot surface. When working in an enclosed shop space, ensure adequate ventilation and use appropriate respiratory protection per applicable safety guidelines. Allow full cure time before exposing the coated component to high heat.
