The KLEIN TOOLS 56003 is a steel fish tape designed for professional electrical work. It features a Depthfinder design developed with input from working electricians to improve pull accuracy and reduce physical effort during wire pulls. The tape is 1/8 inch wide and runs 125 feet, with depth markings in 1 inch increments so the installer knows exactly how far the tape has traveled inside a conduit run. The case measures 13 inches in diameter. This tool is used by licensed electricians and experienced electrical contractors on both residential and commercial installations.
The 56003 is suited for conduit runs in walls, ceilings, and underground raceways where accurate tape depth measurement is critical. The 1 inch increment markings eliminate guesswork on long pulls, making it especially useful in open-ceiling commercial spaces or underground conduit systems where the far end of the run is not visible. The orange housing improves jobsite visibility. The steel tape construction handles the tension and abrasion of typical EMT, rigid, and flexible conduit pulls.
Designed as a standard fish tape replacement or addition for professional electricians pulling wire through conduit in residential and commercial electrical installations.
Fish tape installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits in the conduit run before inserting the tape. Wear appropriate PPE including gloves, as steel tape edges can cause cuts during handling. Avoid forcing the tape around tight bends, as kinking can permanently damage the tape and make retrieval difficult.
