The KLEIN TOOLS 3262 is a barrel drift pin designed for aligning bolt holes in structural steel, heavy equipment, and fabrication work. The tapered point allows the tool to be driven into misaligned holes to draw them into position so fasteners can be seated cleanly. It measures 8 inches in overall length, with a maximum barrel diameter of 15/16 inches and a point diameter of 1/2 inch. At 1.1 pounds, it provides enough mass for confident striking without excessive fatigue during repetitive alignment tasks. Ironworkers, structural steel erectors, and millwrights are the primary users of this tool.
The 3262 is suited for structural ironwork, steel erection, equipment installation, and heavy fabrication applications where bolt-hole alignment is required. Its barrel taper works across a range of hole sizes common in structural steel connections. The compact 8-inch length makes it manageable in tight flange and connection-point work where longer drift pins are impractical.
Designed as a standard barrel drift pin for structural steel erection and heavy fabrication applications where bolt-hole alignment of standard connection plates and flanges is required.
Drive with a ball-peen or structural hammer appropriate to the application. Never use a drift pin as a permanent fastener or leave it loaded under structural load while unattended. Wear appropriate hand and eye protection when striking. Follow applicable site safety and OSHA guidelines for structural ironwork and steel erection.
