The KING ELECTRIC KB24153PLTMXBMS is a single-stage, 3-phase electric unit heater rated at 15 kW (approximately 51,195 BTU/h) and designed for 240-volt service. It draws 36.1 amps and delivers 1,050 CFM through a built-in blower, producing a 45 degrees F discharge air temperature rise. The unit features a built-in electronic thermostat with a bright red LCD display, touch-button controls, and an included handheld infrared remote with wall holder. A provision for an optional 24-volt thermostat — including Nest-compatible control — and Building Management System (BMS) integration is standard. Smart Limit Protection automatically disconnects elements and the motor on thermal overload, requiring a manual reset. Licensed electricians and HVAC technicians perform the install.
This unit heater is rated for commercial indoor use and is suited for large, open spaces including warehouses, garages, retail stores, and high-rise buildings. It is also applied in water treatment facilities and fire room vaults where freeze protection is required. The copper-brazed metal sheath element with spiral-formed fins and high CFM output promote even air distribution and reduce hot spots. A built-in fan delay dissipates residual heat from the elements after the setpoint is reached. Timer modes and a summer fan-only setting add operational flexibility for year-round use.
Designed as a direct replacement for the King KB2415-3-PLTMX. Part of the King KB PlatinumX BMS series, which is available in single-phase, 3-phase, and multi-phase configurations. Multi-phase units can be field-switched from 1-phase to 3-phase by reconnecting wires per the diagram attached to the heater.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and all applicable local codes. Disconnect and lock out all power before servicing or mounting the unit. Maintain a minimum clearance of 6 inches on all sides and to the rear of the unit; minimum mounting height is 6 feet and maximum is 13 feet. The included universal bracket supports both wall and ceiling mounting orientations — do not operate the unit without the bracket properly secured.
