The KILLARK GECCT-1 is a 1/2-inch explosion-proof conduit body designed for use in hazardous location electrical installations. It provides a junction point for conductors in conduit systems where flammable gases, vapors, or combustible dusts may be present. The body is built to contain any internal ignition, preventing propagation to the surrounding atmosphere. Licensed electricians install this type of fitting in classified areas to meet NEC Article 500 requirements for Class I and Class II hazardous locations.
This conduit body is suited for industrial and commercial applications where hazardous location wiring methods are required. Typical install environments include petrochemical facilities, grain handling operations, wastewater treatment plants, paint booths, and other sites where the NEC mandates explosion-proof equipment. The 1/2-inch trade size makes it compatible with standard 1/2-inch rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit systems in these environments.
Designed as an OEM-style explosion-proof conduit body for use with 1/2-inch rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit in NEC-classified hazardous locations.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician familiar with NEC Article 500 hazardous location requirements. De-energize all circuits and verify the area is safe before beginning work. All conduit connections must be made with the appropriate number of full thread engagements per NEC and manufacturer requirements. Do not use this fitting outside its rated hazardous location classification.
