The KIDDE - EDWARDS KIR-OSHCD is an intelligent multicriteria detector that combines smoke, heat, and carbon monoxide sensing in a single device. Designed for use in life-safety fire alarm systems, it communicates with a compatible fire alarm control panel to report individual alarm conditions across all three detection types. The multicriteria design helps reduce unwanted alarms by cross-referencing inputs before triggering. Licensed fire alarm technicians and system integrators are the primary installers of this device in commercial and institutional applications.
This detector is suited for intelligent addressable fire alarm systems in commercial, institutional, and light industrial environments. Its combined smoke, heat, and CO detection capability makes it appropriate for spaces where multiple hazard types must be monitored from a single device, reducing the number of devices needed per zone while maintaining code-compliant coverage.
Designed for use in intelligent addressable fire alarm systems compatible with KIDDE - EDWARDS panel protocols. Consult the panel manufacturer documentation to confirm addressable loop compatibility before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. Power down and isolate the addressable loop before connecting or removing the detector. Follow the system control panel documentation for address programming and verification procedures. Do not install in areas outside the environmental rating of the device.
